Located on Highway 2A, just five minutes south of the City of Red Deer, Springbrook offers its residents full municipal services. It has evolved from a former military base to a bustling residential community. Businesses located at the Red Deer Regional Airport are the primary employer within the community, employing over 300 people. There are 100 acres of open space and natural park areas, a state of the art skateboard park, soccer/baseball fields; and three residential playgrounds. The County owns 2 quarter sections of serviceable lands located directly south of the Hamlet of Springbrook and west of the CP railway and Highway 2A. This land is ready for commercial/industrial opportunities that will bring several job opportunities for the Hamlet and surrounding areas.
With the announcement from the Premier regarding the airport expansion and an additional large project happening in the area, there will be a need for retail/commercial services in the immediate area. The addition of over $15M into the development of the runway at the Red Deer Regional Airport will allow for over 850,000 M2 of serviceable airside/ groundside land for development. Cargo and scheduled Ultra Low Cost Carrier (ULCC) flights to the airport is on the radar.
